Struklio 1.1.0 – Your Data, Your App

Struklio started with a simple idea: building a mobile app should not require sitting behind a computer, learning a development stack, or adapting your business to complicated software.

You should be able to build from the device already in your pocket.

With Struklio 1.1.0, we are taking another important step toward that vision.

This update introduces Collections, a completely new Events & Community template, and a redesigned Struklio experience across the app.

But the biggest change is not one individual feature.

It is that Struklio can now understand much more of your own business, your own structure and your own data.

Your data, your app

Until now, templates have provided the structure for what you build.

They are useful because they give you a working starting point immediately. A restaurant needs dishes. A store needs products. A service business needs services.

But businesses rarely fit perfectly inside predefined categories.

A sports club may need training sessions.

A community may need events.

A school may need courses.

A real-estate business may need listings.

A company may want to show its team.

Another business may need something completely different.

That is why we built Collections.

Collections let you create structured data for your app directly inside Struklio and decide what that data represents.

Start with one of the ready-made starters – Events, Classes, Courses, Team, Listings or Offers – or create a collection completely from scratch.

Add your own fields, add your items, and your content can appear inside your app immediately.

Instead of adapting your business to the template, you can increasingly adapt the app to your business.

From data to an app screen

Creating the data is only one part of the experience.

The important part is what happens next.

With Show in app, Struklio can add a finished list and detail experience for your collection to the app.

You do not have to manually construct every screen around the data you created.

Create a collection.

Add your items.

Show it in the app.

That connection between managing information and turning it into an actual mobile experience is an important part of where we are taking Struklio.

Fields that understand what they represent

Collections are not limited to plain text.

Different information should behave differently inside an app.

A location should be something you can open in Maps.

A URL should become something you can tap.

A price should understand the currency of the app.

A date should behave like a date.

And availability should actually understand when something is full.

Collections in 1.1.0 support fields including date and time, place, price, spots, choices and links, alongside the more fundamental fields needed to create your own structure.

We have also added behaviour around that data.

Upcoming items can automatically appear with the nearest event first, while past items disappear from the active list.

Places can open directly in Maps.

Links become actionable buttons.

Prices use the currency configured for your app.

The goal is not simply to store information.

The goal is for Struklio to understand enough about that information to turn it into something useful inside the finished app.

Let people join

Collections also introduce another important capability for events and classes: sign-ups.

Users can join with their name and email directly from the app.

As the app owner, you can see who is coming.

If an event or class has a limited number of spots, registration automatically closes when those spots are filled.

This turns a collection from something people only look at into something they can actually interact with.

And that is a direction we want to continue moving toward.

Apps should not just display information.

They should help businesses operate.

Introducing Events & Community

Alongside Collections, Struklio 1.1.0 introduces a new Events & Community template.

It gives clubs, communities, organizers and other event-driven groups a starting point built around:

• Upcoming events
• Event details
• Sign-ups
• Event management
• Community-focused content

You can start with the structure already in place and then make it your own with Collections and the rest of the Struklio builder.

It is another example of what we want templates to become: not limitations, but strong starting points.

A completely refreshed Struklio

1.1.0 also brings one of the largest visual updates we have made since launching Struklio.

The experience has been redesigned across the product, from the dashboard through the builder and settings.

We wanted opening Struklio to feel closer to the product we are building toward.

Cleaner.

More intentional.

More polished.

And more consistent across the entire app.

We have also improved transitions and loading behaviour, including removing the white flashes that could previously appear while moving between screens.

These details may sound small individually, but they matter when you are using a product repeatedly to build something of your own.

The builder itself should feel like a product you want to return to.

Improvements across the platform

There are also several important fixes and improvements included in 1.1.0.

Your app’s currency configured in App Settings is now used consistently for prices throughout the app.

Photos uploaded for products, dishes and collection items no longer interfere with your app icon.

Deleting an app now removes all of its associated data completely.

And throughout the release, we have made additional performance improvements and smaller fixes across the product.

Moving beyond fixed app builders

There is a bigger reason why Collections matters to us.

Struklio is not meant to become a collection of rigid templates where every business has to choose the closest available option.

Templates should help you start faster.

They should not define where you have to finish.

Our direction is toward a system where more and more of the structure of an app can come from the person building it – while Struklio handles the difficult parts underneath.

That balance matters.

Traditional no-code tools often give you flexibility by exposing more complexity.

We want to approach the problem from the opposite direction.

Give people more capability while keeping the experience understandable enough to use from a phone.

That is harder to build.

But it is also what makes the idea interesting.

Building from the device in your pocket

The long-term vision behind Struklio has not changed.

We believe the phone can become a serious creation device.

Not only something you use to consume software, communicate or manage work that was created somewhere else.

A device you can use to create the software itself.

Struklio 1.1.0 is another step toward that.

You can now define more of your own data.

Turn that data into real app experiences.

Let users interact with it.

And do it from the same mobile-first environment we have been building from the beginning.

There is still much more we want to make possible.

But with every update, Struklio becomes a little less about choosing what already exists – and a little more about building what your business actually needs.
