Eighth Update on Struklio
Our eighth update makes Struklio easier to learn and faster to build with, introducing a new guided product tour and the ability to duplicate screens while working on an app.
Update 1.0.8 continues something we started with the previous release: reducing the friction between opening Struklio and actually building something.
In 1.0.7, we rebuilt the first-time experience around a much simpler starting flow.
With 1.0.8, we are continuing from there.
This update introduces a new guided tour to help users understand the workspace once they enter the builder, while screen duplication makes it much faster to reuse work as an app grows.
Take the Tour
One of the biggest challenges with any new building tool is knowing what to do once you arrive inside it.
Struklio has screens, components, project settings, preview tools and different parts of the building workflow.
For someone using the product for the first time, simply showing all of those tools is not enough.
They need context.
That is why 1.0.8 introduces Take the Tour.
The new tour walks users through the core parts of Struklio and explains what they can do inside the workspace.
Rather than trying to explain the entire product before someone has created an app, the guidance now happens where it makes sense: inside the actual builder.
You create the project first.
Then you learn how to work with it.
This continues the approach we introduced in 1.0.7 – guidance should appear when it is useful, not before.
Duplicate Screens Instead of Starting Again
Building an app often means creating screens that share the same basic structure.
Previously, creating another version of an existing screen meant rebuilding much of that structure manually.
That is unnecessary work.
With 1.0.8, screens can now be duplicated.
You can take an existing screen, create a copy and continue customizing it from there.
This is useful when creating similar product pages, service screens, content layouts or simply experimenting with another version of something you have already built.
The goal is straightforward:
Build something once, reuse the structure and keep moving.
As projects become larger, small workflow improvements like this become increasingly important.
Making the Builder Easier to Understand
The last few Struklio updates have not only been about adding more functionality.
They have also been about making the functionality that already exists easier to discover and use.
1.0.6 introduced the free trial.
1.0.7 rebuilt the first-time project creation experience.
Now 1.0.8 improves what happens after someone reaches the builder.
That progression matters.
Getting someone into a product is only the first step. They also need to understand where they are, what they can do next and how quickly they can turn their idea into something tangible.
The new tour helps with understanding.
Duplication helps with speed.
Both move Struklio in the same direction.
Why This Update Matters
Building from a phone has to feel different from using a traditional desktop development environment.
There is less room for unnecessary steps.
Actions need to be clear.
Common tasks need to be fast.
And the product should teach itself as you use it.
That means we spend a lot of time looking at the small points of friction inside the building experience and asking whether they actually need to exist.
Sometimes the answer is a new feature.
Sometimes it is better guidance.
Sometimes it is simply removing the need to perform the same work twice.
Update 1.0.8 does a little of each.
The result is a Struklio that is easier to understand when you first arrive and faster to use once you start building.
Version 1.0.8 is now available on the App Store.
And we keep building.
